Whales & Dolphins – A Day on the Water
Come join Lesley as we head out on the water for a 4.5 hour cruise aboard the luxurious ‘Dolphin Explorer’ and explore the beautiful Hauraki Gulf Marine Park in search of photographic opportunities where there is an amazing and diverse marine wildlife.
Our safari departs from the Viaduct Basin, at 10.30am where we. jump on board the 65-foot (20-metre) catamaran and settle in as we head out to explore the beautiful Hauraki Gulf Marine Park, one of the most abundant and diverse marine parks in the world.
Because we’re venturing into a wild, natural environment, every trip is different and the photographic opportunities will vary depending on what we see.. We typically on this cruise we get to see Bryde’s whales and common dolphins, but we may also meet pygmy blue whales, New Zealand fur seals, sharks, manta rays, turtles and masses of seabirds – including the little blue penguin.
On our return to Auckland, sit back, take advantage of the licensed café and bar, and enjoy the island views as lunch and a glass of bubbles or wine is included in the price.
Come on, join this small group of 10 women and enjoy some #cameratime with Lesley.
Pack, of course your camera, tripod (although we may be limited to how many we can have up at a time), your lenses and filters.
