Photography Walk: Symonds Street Cemetery

Led by Lesley Whyte, we invite you to join a small group of supportive women to practise your photography on this photography walk.

Suitable for all levels of photography expertise (beginners are always welcome), come join fellow female photographers on a two-hour photography walk.

These walks are designed to connect with your fellow photography buddies and are a chance for you to come together to practise and learn some photography skills as there is some hands on help from Lesley.

The end of the two hours, is not the end of your engagement as we invite you to become a member of the Women in Photography alumni Facebook community, a place where you can share your photos, ask questions and meet online.

On this walk, we explore the historic Symonds Street Cemetery, photographing the graves dappled in light from the beautiful overhanging trees. One of New Zealand’s oldest urban cemeteries, Symonds Street Cemetery was Auckland’s main burial ground from 1842 until Waikumete Cemetery opened in 1886.
